Legio Proditorum #35233315
Description
The Legion of the Betrayed “Abandoned by the Empire. Remembered by war.” Origins The Legion of the Betrayed was once known as the Legio XIII Noctis, an elite Roman legion formed during the dying years of a fractured empire. They were veterans, frontier guardians, and conquerors sent to hold the northern borders against endless barbarian invasions. Their commander, Legate Cassian Varro, was fiercely loyal to Rome. Under his command, the legion defended entire provinces with impossible discipline. But as political corruption consumed the capital, the Senate feared the legion’s growing influence more than the enemies beyond the frontier. When a civil war erupted, the Emperor ordered the XIII Noctis to march east and reinforce loyalist forces. Instead, the Senate secretly branded them traitors. Supply lines were cut. Messengers were executed. Reinforcements never came. The legion was abandoned deep within hostile territory. For three winters they fought alone. Ten thousand soldiers
