Description
Established in 2022 by approval of the Calsonora State Legislature, the Port Authority of Blythe & Springdale is an inter-municipality compact formed through the collaboration of the City of Blythe and the Township of Springdale. This joint entity is tasked with overseeing, managing, and fostering economic development related to the shared port facilities, infrastructure, and related projects that benefit both communities. The Port Authority is governed by a four-member board. Two members are appointed by the President of the Springdale Board of Supervisors, and two are appointed by the Mayor of the City of Blythe. All appointments require confirmation by the Calsonora State Senate, ensuring a balanced and bipartisan approach to leadership. With a focus on regional cooperation, the Port Authority aims to enhance trade, transportation, and commerce, contributing to the growth and prosperity of both municipalities and the broader Calsonora region.
