Drawn from disciplined, loyal individuals, the Kryphioi were trained to move in silence, gather knowledge, and eliminate threats before they could endanger the kingdom’s stability. Their existence was seldom acknowledged openly, yet their influence was felt throughout Pergamon’s territories. While the Basilikoi Hoplitai defended the kingdom in open battle, the Kryphioi safeguarded it from the shadows. Loyalty to the Basileus, discretion, and unwavering resolve defined those accepted into their ranks. Walk unseen beneath Pergamon’s banners.
