Siendo la institución policial a nivel nacional, la Policía Nacional mantiene jurisdicción y presencia en los 18 departamentos de Honduras, actualmente operando con 18 jefaturas departamentales y dos jefaturas metropolitanas (Distrito Central y San Pedro Sula).
