REGION OF KURDISTAN ---------------------------------- Kurdistan is a geo-cultural region located in the Middle East, spanning parts of Turkey, Iraq, Iran, and Syria. It is home to the Kurdish people, an ethnic group with a distinct language, culture, and history. The region is characterized by its mountainous landscapes, including the Zagros and Taurus mountain ranges, as well as fertile plains and river valleys. Kurdistan is rich in natural resources, particularly oil and gas, making it a significant area economically and geopolitically. The region has a long history of striving for autonomy and recognition, particularly in Iraqi Kurdistan, where a semi-autonomous Kurdish Regional Government (KRG) administers the area.
