The Navy of the Texian RepubIic #35403258
Description
𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐍𝐚𝐯𝐲 𝐨𝐟 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐓𝐞𝐱𝐢𝐚𝐧 𝐑𝐞𝐩𝐮𝐛𝐥𝐢𝐜 “𝙏𝙚𝙭𝙖𝙨 𝙁𝙤𝙧𝙚𝙫𝙚𝙧!” The Navy of the Republic of Texas was the maritime force organized to protect the Texas coast and disrupt Mexican commerce during and after the Texas Revolution. First established in 1835 and later reorganized in 1839, it played an important role in securing trade routes and deterring coastal incursions. Operating a small fleet in the Gulf of Mexico, the navy conducted patrols, escorts, and raids against Mexican shipping rather than sustained blockade operations. Despite persistent financial difficulties, it remained active until annexation in 1845, after which its vessels were transferred or sold and Texas’ independent naval service came to an end.
