Despite initial setbacks on multiple fronts, she managed to avoid the partitioning of her state, thanks in large part to the strategic brilliance of her generals. In the aftermath of the war, the sovereign knew the fate of her realm depended on a more capable and disciplined army. Following the Treaty of Aachen of 1748, the army underwent crucial changes. Pay structures were improved, drills were standardized, and discipline became a cornerstone of the new military culture.
