(Dutch East India Company) was the world’s first multinational corporation and, at its peak, the largest company ever. It controlled the spice trade between Europe and Asia, becoming incredibly powerful in shipping, commerce, and even military action. The V.O.C. had its own army, navy, and could make treaties and create colonies. At its height, it was so valuable that its wealth would still make it the most valuable company in history today.
