Description
Legio X Equestris was a Roman legion founded by Julius Caesar in 58 BCE and became one of his most trusted units. Nicknamed “Equestris” after Caesar mounted its soldiers on horses during a diplomatic mission, it played a vital role in the Gallic Wars and later in Caesar’s Civil War, including the decisive Battle of Pharsalus in 48 BCE. Renowned for its loyalty and effectiveness, it was instrumental in securing Caesar’s rise to power now under Augustus Caesar's rule.
