THE IMPERIAL PATHFINDERS LOYAL TO THE EMPEROR & PEOPLE OF ROME The Exploratores were recruited from among the best of the veteran cohorts, whose purpose was to scout while the legions traversed foreign land. These veterans were used not only as scouts but also as pathfinders of imperial campaigns. Skilled in espionage, protection, and reconnaissance.
