Description
𝐓𝐇𝐄 𝐏𝐓𝐎𝐋𝐄𝐌𝐀𝐈𝐂 𝐂𝐀𝐕𝐀𝐋𝐑𝐘 ▬ 🐴 The Ptolemaic Lonchophoroi were elite cavalrymen from wealthy classes, equipped with lances (lonchai) and scale armor. Skilled in shock combat, they delivered swift, decisive strikes on the battlefield. ⚔️ Their role in the Ptolemaic army reflected the societal hierarchy, where the horse-owning elite demonstrated their loyalty and martial prowess by defending the kingdom. Bridging Greek cavalry traditions with local influences, the Lonchophoroi symbolized a practical fusion of military innovation and aristocratic honor.
