Description
The Kievan Rus', or, in Latin, Russia, is situated in the modern-day countries of Belarus,Moldova, Poland, Romania, Russia, Slovakia, and Ukraine. The nation would align itself with the Eastern Orthodoxy. The Rus' have a unique blend of Norse and Slavic culture, with two distinct classes, the Varangians, the Norse ruling class, and their Slavic counterparts, making up the peasantry, and the majority of the population. Historically, the Rus' were close allies with Byzantium, and their own decline can be attributed to their late trading partner and ally.
