Clairemont County Fire Rescue was established in September of 2006, following the merger of the Fort Loredo Volunteer Fire Company and the Fort Loredo First Aid Squad, as a county-level fire suppression and emergency medical services agency of Clairemont County responsible for fire suppression and medical response throughout the county. Prior to the merger, the individual agencies operated within the same jurisdictions, with varying levels of equipment and differing expertise, which led to inconsistencies in service delivery across the county and city of Fort Loredo. Today, Clairemont County Fire Rescue serves as the county-level fire suppression and emergency medical services agency of Clairemont County, responsible for fire suppression, medical services, and fire prevention within the county.
