Description
At the height of its territorial power, the Swedish Empire is one of the dominant forces in Northern and Eastern Europe. Its lands stretched far beyond the borders of Sweden, encompassing Finland, Estonia, Latvia, and strategic holdings along the Baltic Sea. The Empire had become a significant player in European politics and military conflicts, particularly during the Thirty Years' War and subsequent expansions. Under the reign of the ambitious and youthful King Charles XII, Sweden faced growing threats from neighboring powers, including Russia, Poland-Lithuania, and Denmark-Norway, who formed a coalition to challenge Swedish dominance. This marked the beginning of the Great Northern War, a conflict that would ultimately test Sweden’s might and reshape the future for Europe itself. Capital: Stockholm Monarch: Karl XII Currency: Silver Daler Population: Approximately 2.5 million Land Area: 1,200,000 km Government: Absolute Monarchy Economy: Proto-industrial Mercantilist Economy
