Description
The Ayyubid Sultanate, founded by the renowned Kurdish general Saladin in the late 12th century, was a powerful Muslim dynasty that ruled over large parts of the Middle East, including Egypt, Syria, Iraq, and parts of the Arabian Peninsula. Known for its military prowess and administrative reforms, the Ayyubids played a crucial role in the Crusades, most notably in Saladin’s successful recapture of Jerusalem from the Crusaders in 1187.
