𝐑𝐞𝐩𝐮𝐛𝐥𝐢𝐜 𝐆𝐮𝐚𝐫𝐝 𝐈𝐧𝐟𝐨𝐫𝐦𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 The French Republic Guard is an elite military unit of around 3,200 to 3,400 personnel within the French National Gendarmerie. It provides security for key public buildings in Paris, including the Élysée Palace and the French Parliament, serves as an honor guard during official ceremonies, supports other law enforcement agencies, and represents France at national and international events.
