Description

The Thebaioi Hoplitai were the core of Thēbai's Citizen Army, composed of well-armored hoplites trained in the phalanx. They were essential in defending and expanding Thebes' influence. Beneath them, the Thureophoroi were medium infantry with greater mobility, and the Perifanoi, Theban youth, served as a reserve force. Together, these forces formed the backbone of Theban military strength.
