Between the years of 1853 through 1867, after many centuries of isolation, Japan had finally ended its isolationist foreign policy over foreigners. A major divide had begun erupting over the government capability of running it's country. This major divide caused havoc all over Japan, causing the two biggest factions to go into civil war, the Tokugawa Shogunate and the Imperial Restorationist.
