Description
The Thureophoroi were medium infantry of Thēbai, equipped with the thureos and a spear or javelins. Known for their versatility, they were more mobile than traditional hoplites but still heavily armored. They played a crucial role in both offensive and defensive actions, supporting heavier units and skirmishing on the battlefield. Their balance of speed and protection made them an essential part of the Theban military.
