Description
Established on July 11, 1798, the United States Marine Corps has served a long history as an amphibious force defending naval ships from invaders. One of the most turbulent times for the corps was when the southern U.S. seceded and created the Confederate States. Roughly 1/3 of the Marine's officers deserted the corps as traitors and went on to serve for the sibling corps in the south. With only around a thousand members remaining, the corps was still able to hold strong and defend the sanctity of the Union.
