Date: May 3, 1942 Location: Sainte Menlanie is a small, picturesque village nestled in the rolling hills of northern France. Situated near the French-Belgian border, the village is surrounded by fields of wheat, vineyards, and forests. With cobblestone streets, a central town square, and a rustic church, the village has a timeless, almost idyllic quality. Yet, the sound of distant German patrols and the shadow of occupation linger over its peaceful appearance.
