Welcome To The Grand Army Of The Republic The Grand Army of the Republic (GAR) was the main military force of the Galactic Republic during the Clone Wars. Created to defend the Republic against the Separatist Alliance, the GAR was made up primarily of millions of genetically engineered clone troopers produced on the planet Kamino. The clones were created from the genetic template of the bounty hunter Jango Fett and were trained from birth to become highly disciplined soldiers. The GAR was commanded by Jedi Generals, with clone commanders leading troops on the battlefield. Its forces included standard clone troopers, ARC troopers, clone pilots, specialists, and other units. They fought across thousands of worlds against the Separatist Droid Army in some of the largest battles of the Clone Wars.
