Description
The 𝗖𝗮𝗻𝗮𝗱𝗶𝗮𝗻 𝗝𝘂𝗱𝗶𝗰𝗶𝗮𝗹 𝗖𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗰𝗶𝗹 (𝗖𝗝𝗖) is the independent federal body responsible for promoting judicial excellence and overseeing the conduct of federally appointed judges. The Council safeguards the integrity, effectiveness, and independence of Canada’s judicial system. CJC conducts investigations, reviews judicial conduct, and supports professional development for members of the judiciary. The Council operates under the Judges Act, establishing its authority and responsibilities which include: • Judicial conduct review and discipline • Ethical standards oversight • Continuing judicial education • Support of judicial independence
