Description
The Australia's Federation Guard (AFG) is a ceremonial unit of the Australian Defence Force (ADF) that is responsible for representing Australia at important national events and official ceremonies. It was established in 2000 to mark the Centenary of Federation and the formation of the Commonwealth of Australia. The Guard is composed of members from the Australian Army, Navy, and Air Force, reflecting the combined strength of Australia's military branches. The Federation Guard plays a key role in national celebrations, such as Australia Day ceremonies, Anzac Day services, and other significant state occasions. Its primary functions include providing ceremonial duties, such as the guarding of important sites and monuments, participating in state visits, and performing military parades and displays.
