The Societas Avariana traces its roots to the twilight years of King Lycagon, a ruler whose name became legend among the outsider tribes. In life, Lycagon was famed for uniting scattered clans beneath his banner. He was called both savage and sovereign: savage to his enemies for his ferocity in war, sovereign to his people for the order he forged from chaos. When Lycagon died, his followers refused to believe that his reign had ended. They claimed he had not perished but ascended, transformed into the Lupus Rex Aeternus — the Eternal Wolf-King. This belief became the cornerstone of a society devoted to his memory, one that would endure long after his earthly kingdom faded. The earliest form of the Societas Avariana began as a fellowship of Lycagon’s closest warriors and kin, who swore to guard his name against forgetfulness.
