𝐁𝐀𝐒𝐄 𝐒𝐄𝐂𝐔𝐑𝐈𝐓𝐘 𝐔𝐍𝐈𝐓 The Base Security Unit (BSU) is the backbone of the NYPD Security Bureau, responsible for safeguarding key facilities, managing access control, and responding to misconduct. Officers in this unit specialize in gate security, base patrols, and rapid threat response, ensuring that the NYPD Academy remain secure. Through intensive training in intruder detainment, misconduct handling, and patrol coordination, BSU members are prepared to handle breaches with precision. Graduates who successfully complete the Base Security Test become Base Security Specialists, entrusted with the safety of the NYPD Academy.
