──────────────────────────────── The Special Operations Executive (SOE) was a clandestine British organization established on July 22, 1940, during World War II. Its primary mission was to conduct espionage, sabotage, and reconnaissance in territories occupied by the Axis powers, as well as to support and coordinate local resistance movements. Often referred to by nicknames such as "Churchill's Secret Army" and the "Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare," the SOE played a pivotal role in undermining enemy operations across Europe and Asia. ──────────────────────────────── The SOE is divided into two branches each with their own missions and objectives.
