Description
The Royal Air Force (RAF) is the aerial warfare branch of the British Armed Forces, founded on 1 April 1918, making it the world’s oldest independent air force. Its main roles are to defend the United Kingdom’s airspace, conduct air operations worldwide, and support peacekeeping and humanitarian missions. The RAF operates advanced aircraft such as the Typhoon, F-35 Lightning II, and various transport and surveillance planes, as well as helicopters and unmanned systems. Guided by its motto “Per Ardua ad Astra” (“Through Adversity to the Stars”), the RAF combines cutting-edge technology, skilled personnel, and strategic partnerships to protect national interests and maintain global security.
