𝙏𝙃𝙀 𝙃𝙊𝙇𝙔 𝙋𝙊𝙉𝙏𝙄𝙁𝙄𝘾𝘼𝙇 𝙎𝙏𝘼𝙏𝙀 The Holy Pontifical State (Sacrae Pontificiae Civitatis or SPC) is a Papal-Military Dictatorial Republic that emerged from the turbulent years of the 1849–50 period of the Roman Republic. Initially, Pope Pius IX fled Rome when revolutionaries declared a secular republic, backed by radical nationalist forces. However, unlike in our timeline, instead of being restored under the protection of France, the Papal States responded with a military reformation, embracing the changing political climate while asserting a rigid theocratic-military rule.
