However, a secret son of Constantine XI, Anastasias, was now the last of the Palaiologoi, and was sent to Wallachia to ensure his safety under the mentorship of the scholar and philosopher, Agrippa Nostradeimos, who took Anastasias as his foster son Yliastor. Soon thereafter, the Ottomans discovered the boy's existence, sending a host to eliminate the threat of a Byzantine heir. In Aggripa's desperation, he sought the aid of a 'Count Valentine'. 🩸 A century later, a vampire marched on Constantinople with new Varangian warbands, claiming to be the Marble Emperor reborn as Anastasias, the son and heir of Constantine XI. After reclaiming the Byzantine crownland, he offered it to Count Valentine to establish a Greek Court within his Vamperium, claiming the Queen of Cities for vampiric rule.
