Marlowe County Detachment, 1991 The West Virginia State Police maintains a permanent law enforcement presence in Marlowe County, supporting local agencies and enforcing the laws of the State of West Virginia. Troopers assigned to the county conduct highway patrol, investigate serious criminal offenses, respond to major incidents, and provide assistance to the Marlowe County Sheriff’s Office and surrounding jurisdictions. The mountain roads and isolated communities of Marlowe County present unique challenges to law enforcement, particularly during the winter months. Serving the State of West Virginia since 1919.
