Imperial Parliament #3578919
Description
𝐈𝐦𝐩𝐞𝐫𝐢𝐚𝐥 𝐏𝐚𝐫𝐥𝐢𝐚𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 ▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬ Parliament is the hereditary, legislative branch in charge of making laws for the Empire of the Isles. Parliament was formed in Gristol on the 26th Day of the Month of Timber, 1626. ▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬ Parliament helps curb possible excesses of the monarch of the Empire, and, in situations where a ruler is too young to assume the throne, or a proper successor cannot be determined, a Lord Regent chosen by Parliament may act as a temporary head of state. Membership in Parliament is hereditary and is based on holdings, inheritance, and special dispensation. As voter priority was determined by the size of members' holdings and land, important families in Parliament could establish voting blocks with greater influence than that of individual members and lesser aristocrats.
