Bộ Chỉ huy Quân sự tỉnh Quảng Trị là cơ quan quân sự địa phương trực thuộc Quân khu 4, đóng vai trò nòng cốt trong xây dựng nền quốc phòng toàn dân và giữ vững an ninh chính trị trên địa bàn tỉnh địa đầu chiến lược. Kế thừa truyền thống kiên cường của một vùng đất lửa anh hùng – nơi ghi dấu những chiến công oanh liệt như cuộc chiến đấu 81 ngày đêm bảo vệ Thành cổ Quảng Trị, lực lượng vũ trang tỉnh ngày nay luôn duy trì trạng thái sẵn sàng chiến đấu cao và hoàn thành xuất sắc nhiệm vụ diễn tập, huấn luyện. Không chỉ bảo vệ vững chắc chủ quyền an ninh biên giới, lực lượng còn là chỗ dựa tin cậy của nhân dân trong công tác phòng chống thiên tai, tìm kiếm cứu nạn, thực hiện chính sách đền ơn đáp nghĩa và quy tập hài cốt liệt sĩ. Với những cống hiến to lớn, đơn vị đã vinh dự được Đảng và Nhà nước trao tặng Huân chương Bảo vệ Tổ quốc hạng Nhất, khẳng định sự vững mạnh toàn diện trong thời kỳ mới.
