Lancashire Constabulary's Roads Policing Unit (RPU) is responsible for policing approximately 218 miles (350km) of motorways and trunk roads across the two counties as well as assisting our colleagues in Lancashire. The RPU has an important role in providing specialist skills and support across the counties of Lancashire, with specific responsibilities for policing the strategic road network and casualty reduction.
