Millington County Fire Department #35841326
Description
Born from fire—quite literally—the Millington County Fire Department was founded in 1902 after a catastrophic blaze tore through the timber yards and freight depots along the Langley Rail Line, destroying dozens of buildings and killing seventeen people. The county, which had relied on scattered volunteer bucket brigades and factory watchmen, was forced to reckon with the growing dangers of its expanding industrial infrastructure. The first formal firehouse, Station No. 1, was built in downtown Langley Falls using salvaged bricks from the ruins of the Great Freight Fire. Staffed by a mix of full-time firefighters and volunteers—most of them steelworkers and farmers—the MCFD quickly gained a reputation for bravery and ingenuity. Their equipment was crude, their resources limited, but their commitment was legendary.

Growth history is still building. We hold one measurement for this entry. A trend needs at least two, taken days apart — so this will fill in on its own rather than being estimated. We do not publish numbers we have not measured.
