Description
Blackridge, WV, is a small town nestled in the Appalachian Mountains. In 1967, a mining disaster unearthed an ancient evil beneath Blackridge. The ensuing fog, believed to be a manifestation of this malevolent force, enveloped the town, claiming most of its inhabitants. Those who survived sought refuge in the Chapel, forming a secretive cult. They conduct midnight rituals, using arcane symbols and chants that echo through the fog. The flames of their candles burn unnaturally bright, casting moving shadows. Initiates are marked as "Chosen," while those who reject the cult are deemed "Outcasts," doomed to vanish as the fog continues its encroachment. The cult operates by candlelight. Various locations around Blackridge have become sacrificial sites. It is believed that the rituals performed and offerings given are the only means to appease the fog and halt the town's descent into darkness.
