The USSR is set in an alternate version of the early 2000s, where the Soviet Union, though weakened, has not yet fallen. The Cold War has grown cold and bitter, with internal fractures threatening to tear the USSR apart from within. In this bleak timeline, the empire clings to survival through military power, political purges, and the loyalty of those still devoted to the ideals of the revolution.
