In the post-Secession era, the Ministry’s responsibilities expanded to incorporate the oversight of internal population movement between original GDR territories and the strategically annexed regions of the Sowjetisches Protektorat Ostmark (SPO). ▬▬▬▬▬▬ ▬▬▬▬▬▬ ▬▬▬▬▬▬ the MdI’s role within the SPO territories is predominantly bureaucratic.
