Texas Rangers, or Highwaymen focus on protecting settlers from Indian raids and maintaining order on the frontier. Being a crucial part of the Republic of Texas, a period when the state was establishing its own identity and grappling with the challenges of a rapidly expanding, and often hostile frontier.
