The Treveri #35872857
Description
A Gallic tribe Founded by StyleXIV An outsider faction within AJC's Rome The Treveri were a powerful Celtic tribe of northeastern Gaul, inhabiting the region around present-day Trier in Germany and the Moselle River valley. Active during the late Iron Age and Roman period, they were known for their mix of Celtic and Germanic cultural influences due to their borderland position. Centered around Augusta Treverorum (modern Trier), which later became one of the major cities of the Roman Empire. Their territory stretched across the Moselle and into parts of today’s Luxembourg, Belgium, and western Germany. They were known for their excellent horse breeding, cavalry, and craftsmanship, especially metalwork. They worshipped a blend of Celtic deities and Roman gods after conquest. Notable cults include Lenus Mars (a healing and warrior god) and Epona (a horse goddess). Their capital became one of the most important cities north of the Alps during Roman times.
