Description
Empire Français, or in English “The French Empire” The French Empire stood as a major European power throughout the early 20th century, maintaining a vast political, military, and colonial presence across Europe, Africa, Asia, and the Mediterranean. By 1937, the Empire had developed into a highly centralized and modernized state, combining longstanding imperial institutions with the industrial, technological, and military developments of the modern age. Its armed forces consisted of professional soldiers, conscripts, career officers, and specialized formations drawn from across Metropolitan France and the Empire's overseas territories. The Imperial Army, Navy, and Air Force served as the principal instruments of national defense, while the Imperial Guard, Foreign Legion, colonial forces, and various territorial commands maintained their own traditions, identities, and roles within the wider military establishment.
