Thе Tеutonic Ordеr #35877943
Description
The Teutonic Order, officially known as the Order of Brothers of the German House of Saint Mary in Jerusalem, was founded around 1190 in the city of Acre during the time of the Crusades. It began as a Catholic religious group with a mission: to help Christian pilgrims traveling to the Holy Land and to provide care through hospitals. Over time, the Order grew into a military brotherhood, often called the Teutonic Knights. They played a major role in the Crusades—both in the Holy Land and later in Northern Europe—working to support Catholic communities and protect Christians in the region. They became especially active in Eastern Europe, where they helped defend and expand Catholic influence during the Middle Ages.
