Description
The 2nd Ranger Battalion is one of the elite units within the 75th Ranger Regiment, a special operations force of the U.S. Army. Based at Joint Base Lewis-McChord in Washington, the 2nd Battalion is renowned for its rapid deployment capability and ability to execute a wide range of special operations missions, including direct action raids, airfield seizures, and special reconnaissance. Formed during World War II, the battalion earned fame for its role in the D-Day landings at Pointe du Hoc.
