Description
The 3rd Tank Division (戦車第3師団, Sensha Dai-san Shidan) was formed from the remains of the planned Imperial Japanese army tank division of the same name. Before the division could be raised, the commander defected, bringing just over half of the solders into the ranks of the Gunjisei Rikugun. The 3rd Division adopted the name "Gashadokuro," a spirit that takes the form of a giant skeleton made of the skulls of people who died in the battlefield. 第3戦車師団は、大日本帝国陸軍の同名戦車師団の残余から編成された。師団編成前に師団長が離反し、師団員の半数強が軍司令部陸軍に編入された。
