Founded: July 1, 1856 Motto: "Leadership for a Lasting Community" Since its formation in 1856, the Briar Creek County Board of County Commissioners has served as the county’s guiding body, balancing growth with quality of life. Today the Board consists of seven elected commissioners representing the county’s distinct districts. The Board is responsible for enacting ordinances, overseeing land development, managing public resources, and providing essential services such as public health, infrastructure, parks, and emergency management. Through a commitment to open government and fiscal responsibility, the Board works to shape a future that honors Briar Creek’s heritage while embracing new opportunities.
