Description
𝐓𝐇𝐄 𝐆𝐄𝐎𝐑𝐆𝐈𝐀 𝐁𝐀𝐓𝐓𝐀𝐋𝐈𝐎𝐍 In 1835, Georgia answered Texas’s call for freedom. Led by Lt. Col. William Ward, over 200 volunteers were armed from the state arsenal and marched west, bearing a Lone Star flag with the words: "Where Liberty dwells, there is our fatherland." They fought bravely at Refugio and Goliad—many giving their lives in the cause of independence.
