Description
The "Daci" are a Legiones Palatina created by Galerius. It was created from a detachment of Legio V Urbana Macedonica which had men from the frontier zone and other parts of the province of Moesia Inferior with the rest being Thracians or the Legio XIII Germina Pia Fidelis Constans Vindex which had men mostly form the province of Dacia Ripensis with the rest coming from the nearby Danube provinces. Later recruitment for a while happened in the province of Dacia Ripensis or Dacia Mediterranea until the fall of those provinces; then switching to recruit locally in the area it was stationed which Asia Minor, then Egypt and for a while Syria.
