[SD-LASD] Los Angeles Sheriffs Department #36051320
Description
The Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department (LASD) is one of the largest and most prominent law enforcement agencies in the United States. Founded in 1850, the LASD is responsible for providing a wide range of policing and public safety services across Los Angeles County, California. As of today, it serves over 10 million residents across more than 4,000 square miles, making it the largest sheriff's department in the nation by personnel and jurisdiction. Headquartered in downtown Los Angeles, the LASD operates under the leadership of the elected Sheriff of Los Angeles County. The department's duties are vast and complex, encompassing everything from patrol and investigation to managing the county's jail system. In addition to serving unincorporated areas of Los Angeles County, the LASD provides law enforcement services to 42 contract cities, dozens of school districts, county hospitals, and the county’s vast transportation network.
