Description
The Ethics Committee is a high‑level, independent body within the SCP Foundation charged with overseeing the moral and ethical implications of Foundation activities. It reviews containment procedures, experimental protocols, allocation of Class‑D personnel, and resource usage to ensure that only necessary and ethically justifiable actions are taken. Committee members gain access to all internal operations, from covert breaches to medical experiments, and interrogate personnel when they suspect misconduct. If violations occur, the Committee can issue reprimands, demote staff, remove pay, or even carry out removals. Their guiding principle is to maintain that the Foundation remain “cold, not cruel”—striking a balance between ruthless efficiency and safeguard against needless cruelty.
