Colonial Government of Augusta #36072773
Description
The governing body of the Crown Colony. [ THE GOVERNOR'S COUNCIL ] The upper legislative house being top cabinet officials in the colony such as Surveyor General, Attorney General, and the Lieutenant Governor. These positions are appointed at the pleasure of the Governor and King. They vote on any bills passed up by the General Assembly and review and matters that the Governor may bring up. They also have no term limits as they serve at the Governor's pleasure. [ AUGUSTA GENERAL ASSEMBLY ] The Augusta General Assembly is the lower house of the colonial legislature. They are elected instead of appointed, have terms of 2 months, and you must own land in order to vote. The General Assembly introduces bills or motions that can be passed up. They may also vote on motions to remove officials (besides the colonel, who was appointed by the crown and governor). These motions can be denied by the Council.
